KC Cook’s life began with a life-changing diagnosis. At just one year old, he was identified with Cystic Fibrosis (CF)—a severe genetic condition affecting the lungs and digestive system. For many, this news dictates a life of limitations. But for KC, it became the starting gun for a life defined by radical determination.
Now in his 30s, KC lives by a philosophy that is as bold as his driving style: “LIVE FAST. LIVE FULL.”
"It’s more than just a motto," KC explains. "It’s the realization that every breath is a gift. CF taught me that life is a race, and you have to make every single lap count."
Even as a child, KC felt the pull of speed and adventure. The race track became his sanctuary and his proving ground. He excelled, becoming a high-level race car driver, coach, and mentor. His career in motorsports is a powerful, visual metaphor for his life: a constant push against the resistance, turning every challenge into a chance to accelerate.
"The track is where I feel most free," KC says. "But I realized early on that my passion could be a public platform. My car isn't just a machine; it's a rolling billboard for CF awareness."
KC Cook, founder of The Boost Foundation, turned his passion into a mission for change, demonstrating that CF doesn't have to define your limits—it defines your drive.
KC founded The Boost Foundation in Southern California as his way of giving back to the community that supported him. The foundation is built on three core pillars:
Educate: Bring public awareness to the realities of Cystic Fibrosis.
Empower: Give CF warriors once-in-a-lifetime motorsports experiences.
Elevate: Increase the visibility of this often misunderstood disease.
As a certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit, The Boost Foundation ensures every donation directly fuels these programs, creating moments of joy and possibility.
When you talk to a participant at a Boost Foundation event, you hear stories of adrenaline-filled ride-alongs and trackside meet-and-greets. These aren't just fun days out. They are powerful reminders to those living with CF that they are not alone and that life is meant to be experienced fully.
"We bring awareness to huge crowds, like at the Long Beach Grand Prix," KC notes. "But the real impact is seeing the look on a child's face when they realize they can taste that speed, that power. It’s about replacing fear with connection, hope, and speed."
KC tirelessly works to secure grants, host fundraising events, and partner with sponsors who share his vision of living life without compromise.
KC Cook’s journey is living proof that while CF may affect the body, it cannot touch the spirit. Through The Boost Foundation, he is turning his personal battle into a public mission that is as fast, fearless, and full as the life he is determined to live.
