Long Beach is about to witness a historic shift in the world of sports. On October 18–19, 2026, the city will host the Brett Lang Invitational, marking Long Beach’s first-ever elite adaptive golf tournament.
This isn’t your typical charity scramble. We are bringing together 20 nationally recognized athletes from the North American One-Armed Golfer Association (NAOAGA) for a showcase of grit, precision, and world-class competition.
The Brett Lang Invitational is a high-performance sporting event designed to challenge the narrative surrounding physical disability. These athletes aren’t just playing for fun; they are competing at the highest level, proving that physical challenges and life-changing diagnoses are no match for elite skill and determination.
Beyond the leaderboard, this event is about driving meaningful change. The Invitational proudly supports:
Wounded Warriors & Veterans: Honoring those who served.
NAOAGA: Empowering one-armed golfers across the continent.
The American Golf Foundation: Promoting the growth and vitality of the game.
Inclusive Initiatives: Solidifying Long Beach as a hub for accessible sports.
The event is structured to blend intense competition with community connection.
Sunday, October 18: The Welcome Banquet The weekend begins at 4:00 PM at Recreation Park 18. This special evening brings together athletes, sponsors, and partners for a night of connection and anticipation, setting the tone for the world-class experience ahead.
Monday, October 19: Championship Play Tournament play officially tees off at 8:00 AM. Watch as elite one-armed golfers from across the country and around the world take the course in a pursuit of championship glory.
Monday, October 19: The Grand Finale The event concludes in style with an Awards Cocktail Reception at The Boat House at 2:30 PM. This is where we recognize the athletes, share the stories of the weekend, and celebrate the lasting impact of the Invitational.
This isn’t just a one-off event. Our long-term goal is to establish Long Beach as a permanent national tour stop for adaptive golf. We want our city to be the premier destination where athletes and families gather annually to celebrate resilience and excellence.
"We are building more than a tournament; we are building a legacy of inclusion right here in Long Beach."
Join us this October to witness history in the making. Whether you are a fan of the game or a supporter of the cause, the Brett Lang Invitational is an event you won't want to miss.
