The Long Beach Junior Golf Association (LBJGA) offers a welcoming environment for young golfers aged 7 to 17, promoting skill development and sportsmanship through weekly league play and monthly tournaments at Heartwell Golf Course. With over 200 members, it encourages friendships and provides pathways for beginners while preparing juniors for future competitive play.
LBJGA is where young golfers come to play more, establish a handicap, and have fun. The association is rooted in a welcoming community that prizes skill-building and sportsmanship, giving kids real-course experience in a supportive environment.
The program blends consistent league play with structured competitive opportunities:
Weekly League Play: Juniors tee it up at Heartwell GC every Thursday afternoon.
Monthly Tournaments: A Medal Tournament is held once a month on a Friday for competitive experience.
Progress Tracking: LBJGA helps juniors establish a handicap, providing a clear, practical metric for development and preparing them for high school and club play.
Core Values: The association emphasizes fundamentals, good sportsmanship, and building lasting friendships on and off the course.
The LBJGA welcomes players of all skill levels, fostering a large and vibrant community.
Membership: Open to juniors ages 7 to 17. Residency in Long Beach is not required.

Little Linksters: For younger or newer players, the Little Linksters pathway offers an easy on-ramp. Registration for this pathway opens every year on April 1.
